WELCOME!

Foothills Public Shooting Complex of Cleveland County is one of the largest public outdoor shooting complexes in the Southeastern United States!

 

Here’s an overview of our 185-acre campus:

  • All ranges are open during regular hours unless otherwise noted.

  • Weather Notice: We do not close for rain. When we’re open, there is always a place to shoot—rifle, pistol, shotgun, or archery.

  • Range 1 – 250-Yard Precision Rifle (10 lanes)

    • Targets at 100–250 yards.

      Opens Tue–Fri at 12 PM, Sat 9:30 AM, Sun 1:30 PM.

      Qualify at the 50-yard range first, requires a 16″ rifle barrel.

  • Range 2 – 20-Yard Handgun (12 lanes)

    • Open weekends. Handguns move to Range 3 Tue–Fri.

  • Range 3 – 50-Yard Rifle & Handgun (18 lanes)

    • Moveable targets to 50 yards. Rifle-only on weekends.

  • Range 4 – Steel Target Range

    • Pistol-caliber only (no magnums). Shotgun function checks allowed.

Additional Ranges & Fields

  • Multiple 25×50 and 25×25 multi-purpose ranges

  • Skeet, trap, and 5-stand clay fields

  • Archery Practice Area and 3D Archery Range

Restrictions including but not limited to: No .50 BMG, .338 Lapua, binary triggers, bump stocks, or larger calibers.

 

  • Range Facilities:
    • Range Office – Check in here first for orientation and visit our gift shop!
    • Outdoor pavilions with picnic tables and grills
    • Concession Area (accommodates catering services)
    • Public restrooms with handicapped access

 

  • Services:
    • Trained Range Safety Officers on every active range to ensure the safe handling of firearms and assistance as needed. Never shoot on an unattended range!
    • Regular competitions
    • Fundamental, intermediate, and special interest training classes
    • Corporate team-building events

 

  • Parking:
    • Parking is conveniently located at each range with handicapped access to all facilities.

Winter Hours (November 1st - March 1st): Open Tuesday - Sunday

Tuesday - Saturday: 9:30 am - Last Shot 4:30 pm

Sunday: 1:30 pm - Last Shot 4:30 pm

Notice of Range Fee Increase – Effective January 1st, 2026

Starting January 1st, range fees at our facility will increase. We appreciate your understanding as these changes help us maintain and improve our facilities. Thank you for your continued support.


3D Archery is now closed for the season! The practice archery ranges will remain open year-round, so come see us!

50-yard practice range is OPEN! Starting November 1, we will resume normal Range 1 times Tues-Fri. Range will open at 12:00 and will close when the range closes.

The Clay Fields will resume normal Range times, Tues-Fri, 9:30 am until closing.


If this is your first time visiting the range, we STRONGLY encourage you to watch our SAFETY VIDEO and fill out the waiver on our website prior to coming to the range. ALL visitors, spectators, and children MUST have a waiver on file. This can also easily be completed on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

UPCOMING CLASSES. Please call the office (704-447-8230) during business hours (closed Mondays) to register

First Saturdays - Intro to Skeet Shooting/First Shots (Shotgun): Shooters will receive on-range instruction in the finer points of skeet shooting. Bring your shotgun and 2 boxes of 7 1/2, 8, or 9 size shot, 1300 fps max. Scoring, etiquette, equipment, and camaraderie will be discussed. 8:30-9:30 AM Cost: $40—includes one round of skeet and instruction. Class size is limited to 5 shooters.

NSSF First Shots Classes: These classes are for beginning shooters. They include classroom and range time with certified instructors. NSSF has supplied us with some goodies for these classes, your $40 fee also includes eye and ear protection. Class size is limited, so call to reserve your spot today!

Let’s get started, click "Learn More" below to watch a short safety video. The video will answer questions that you may have about the range. After the video, you can submit the waiver form electronically to our office. Present your photo ID in the office and you will receive your personal range ID.
